Andrew Gettelman of the National Center of Atmospheric Research in Boulder Colorado knows our ability to effectively predict Earth's future climate depends on how accurate our climate models are today. He talks about his research, and what matters when you set out to model Earth's atmosphere. One of the data sets Andrew makes use of is from a spaceborne instrument called AIRS, the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder on a NASA satellite called "Aqua". You will hear him refer to AIRS in the video.
