AIRS chosen as a "Best of Green 2010" award winner by TreeHugger.com
The AIRS mission was chosen as a "Best of Green" award winner in the Science & Technology category on Treehugger.com, a Discovery Company web site. Under the Headline "Best New Tool for Climate Science: NASA's Atmospheric Infrared Sounder", it states "Launched a few years ago, the data it has given scientists on CO2 in the Earth's atmosphere truly brought climate science into the 21st century. Without it, our understanding of the planet's climate would much be poorer."
Treehugger's annual Best of Green Awards highlight the individuals and organizations that are pushing the green movement forward. The award page highlighting the AIRS mission also includes a link to a page featuring AIRS visualizations of carbon dioxide.
