Larrabee Strow of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, has spent a career teasing out Earth's atmospheric molecules and studying how they react using a technique called high resolution spectroscopy. What he finds may lead to the start of an incontrovertible climate record whose measurements can be used for decades to come.
Larrabee talks about using data from AIRS, the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder. AIRS is a weather and climate instrument that flies aboard a NASA satellite called Aqua.
