Q.  Do you have any suggestions for users who desire moisture and
temperature profiles at the AIRS spatial resolution?  

A.  Our cloud clearing algorithm does not allow single AIRS footprint
retrievals. The AIRS project is considering 1x3 retrievals, which
would yield 15kmx45km resolution. We are aware of research activities
to retrieve at full AIRS resolution. However, algorithms that
simultaneiously retrieve temperature, water vapor and cloud parameters
appear to be computationally extremely expensive. Most retrieve
temperature and WV down to the cloud top. Otheres can only operate in
clear fields of view.
